Aspen was a silver mining town in the 1800's and thanks to the 10th mountain division, became a premier ski resort in the 1900's. It is currently home to the Aspen Institute, the Physics Institute, the Aspen Music Festival, and some of the wildest adventure fanatics on the planet.
